James
Bolton (Writer/ Director)
After studying art and filmmaking at Loyola Marymount
University, James Bolton went on to direct several short films. One
of Bolton's shorts, Growing Up and I'm Fine, played at film festivals
around the world and was selected to open the Berlin International Film
Festival. Eban and Charley is the New York-based writer/director's first
feature.
Chris
Monlux (Producer)
Chris Monlux's career has involved him in several aspects
of the entertainment industry, including music and film. Not only has
Monlux managed such rock bands as the Dandy Warhols, he is also a partner
in the largest concert promotions company in the Northwest. Aside from
producing, he has also directed a short film that was featured in several
international film festivals.
Stephin
Merritt (Music)
As the lead singer and songwriter for the band The Magnetic
Fields, Merritt has been the recipient of wide critical acclaim from
such national publications as The New York Times and the Los Angeles
Times. Rolling Stone proclaimed him as perhaps the greatest songwriter
of his generation, while Spin compared him to no less than Cole Porter.
Merrit's solo album 69 Love Songs was released to such rave reviews
in September, 1999.
Judy
Irola, ASC (Director of Photography)
Judy Irola's extensive and acclaimed work in cinematography
includes Northern Lights, which won the Palm D'Or at the Cannes Film
Festival, and Ambush of Ghosts, which garnered Irola a Best Cinematography
award at the Sundance Film Festival. Irola has also worked with acclaimed
German director Percy Adlon, and she recently completed a digital film
for Lucas Reiner.
Brent
Fellows (Eban)
A current resident of San Francisco, Brent Fellows is
an actor and musician. While auditioning as an extra for Eban and Charley,
Fellows got writer/director James Bolton's attention, and was asked
to audition for the lead role of Eban. Fellows makes his feature debut
in Eban and Charley.
Giovanni
Andrade (Charley)
While painting in Washington Square Park, Giovanni Andrade
was spotted by writer/director James Bolton and given the script for
Eban and Charley. Andrade avidly pursued the pivotal role of Charley
and was subsequently cast. Eban and Charley is the New York-based artist's
first film.
